Celebrate Chase & Chalke

Bringing together the public, participants and volunteers from the various activities to share and celebrate the achievements of the Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership Scheme.

We hosted a celebration event in July 2024 at Larmer Tree Gardens, with a range of activities. There were talks and presentations about many of the projects, plus performances from the Characters of the Chase.

Visitors were treated to various musical acts, including from the Voices in the Landscape project, and performances on the Renaissance lute and Baroque guitar.

Walks and activities included:

  • Space Detectives
  • Solar observing
  • Butterfly walks in the garden
  • Art workshops
  • Bat walks

Visitors could also enjoy the silk flags created by Nicola Davis and local communities, and exhibitions from the Artist Residencies. Resident poet Akulah Agbami performed some of her work. Attendees could dissect an owl pellet, try peg making, get hands-on with painting with earth pigments, and discover life during the Roman occupation.
