Did you know that Cranborne Chase is one of only 20 International Dark Sky Reserves in the world? Areas that are recognised for their stunning dark skies, quality starry nights and nocturnal environment.
To help save and enhance our dark skies, join Chase & Chalke’s team of Dark Sky Custodians, learn more about the importance of our dark skies to humans and wildlife and discover how you can easily help protect and promote them in your area.
Free online training will help you to explore the constellations and our amazing nightscape, learn how to host a stargazing event and understand good lighting practices and why ALAN (who!?) is bad for us and for the environment.
If you would like to learn more and share you love and knowledge of our dark skies with your family, friends and neighbourhood then please join us. The Dark Sky Custodian workshops is a series of three one-hour online sessions, each covering different topics which start at 7.30pm on Monday 28th November and continue on the 5th and 12th December.
To register please contact Rachel Limb, rachellimb@cranbornechase.org.uk
These sessions are made possible thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
