Come on down to the charming village of Broad Chalke where we will be joining up to conduct some simple surveys on the river Ebble
Book your place via Eventbrite here
We will be using the survey app called ‘Survey123 Field App’ on our smart phones to enter survey data which will provide information on the state of the river health and its wildlife. By downloading the Survey123 Field App you will be able to access a variety of surveys where you can report what you’ve seen.
These surveys have been designed to be simple to use – and by entering information about what we see into them we will be providing information on the state of the river. When people survey the river at regular spots and seasonal intervals the information gathered is an excellent way of checking the rivers health.
This coming session gives us a chance to work through some of the easier surveys. The Wildlife Sightings survey, and the Fixed Point Photography surveys. We might also use the Ebble Habitat Features and the Condition Survey.
If you would like to come along and contribute to the Crystal Clear Ebble Project and help us enhance the health of this beautiful chalk stream, please download the Survey123 Field App in advance of coming – this is because internet coverage could be poor down at the riverside.
Full details on how to download the app can be found here. Please let us know if you have any difficulty with downloading the app.
We will look at several spots along the river so please be prepared for a little walk and bring wellies/waterproof footwear as it may well be wet and muddy. We hope to see you there!
