Have you always wanted to know more about your local river?
We would like to welcome you to a presentation about the River Ebble, a little chalk stream that runs through Wiltshire’s beautiful Chalke Valley.
Join Alex and Matt as they explore the unique importance of the River Ebble and find out how you can volunteer to receive training to help undertake surveys, beocme a River Warden and help us enhance and conserve the special habitats along the river.
The presentation will introduce you to the river, taking you on a journey through time, winding our way downstream and showcasing why chalk streams are such rare and important habitats.
We’ll talk about the huge pressures they face, and with your help, what we’ll do to address these through the Crystal Clear Ebble project.
Wessex Rivers Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to the conservation of chalk streams in Wessex, working towards healthy rivers for wildlife and people.
The Trust looks at ways to improve local rivers for wildlife and work within catchment partnerships to help achieve their aims. Educating the public about the importance of our rivers increases their value to people, and ultimately builds support for the future of these fragile environments.
