Walking in the Footsteps of Henry Chalk, with author Nick Cowen

Date/Time

 Mon 01/03/2021
 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Nick Cowen will discuss the inspiration behind his book series – The Adventures of Henry Chalk.

How did looking after South Wiltshire’s public rights of way for 30 years lead him to write a trilogy of adventure stories?

The series of books is now published together for the first time in an omnibus edition.

Nick will talk about his association with the Chase and Chalke landscape and also his own memories of growing up in a chalk valley where the inhabitants of the village worked on the land and lived in tied cottages.

No doubt public rights of way will also feature with ideas for future walks, perhaps walking in the footsteps of Henry Chalk?

Join Nick as he explores our Rights of Way and find out how you can be involved in the work of the Landscape Partnership Scheme perhaps as a walk leader for our Walking Festival or through volunteering on our practical conservation projects.. If you would like to know more or find out how to volunteer check out our volunteering page or contact the Chase & Chalke Scheme Manager Jonathan Monteith jonathanmonteith@cranbornechase.org.uk
