2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
Take in the scenery of the picturesque Chalke Valley on a pretty 4-mile walk. As dusk approaches we will keep a look out for roosting birds including Red Kites, Buzzards, Rooks and Jackdaws.
Using public footpaths and tracks we will climb out of Broad Chalke up Knighton Hill, with views to the distant lights of Salisbury and its cathedral. Onward to Cranborne Droves Way and back via Church Bottom stopping to view any interesting points of nature and winter roosts along the way. There is one steady ¾ mile climb and five stiles along the route.
There will be pauses so please wrap up warm (it will be colder than you think!) and bring a flask with hot drink.
