Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership Scheme Manager

Jonathan Monteith

What do you do at the Chase & Chalke Partnership team?

I’m the Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership Scheme Manager and so my job is to manage the delivery of our projects. I work closely with the rest of the team, our partners, stakeholders and the National Lottery Heritage Fund to ensure we meet our ambitious targets and outcomes.

Sounds really interesting – what does that involve?

I’m responsible for the delivery of the Chase & Chalke Scheme. My role is to lead the day to day operation of our work, setting our strategic direction, managing staff and leading on the delivery of some of our key projects. I also work closely with consultants, contractors and partners to deliver projects. I also provide progress reports to our funders and partners.

What do you do when you’re not working for the Scheme?

I enjoy running and bird watching, though not at the same time! I have a young family so when I’m not at work we enjoy spending time in the countryside. We enjoy getting out and about exploring the beautiful landscape of Cranborne Chase and beyond. I also enjoy travelling, cooking and baking.

What’s the best thing about working here?

We work in a beautiful location in a stunning landscape. I love being able to create opportunities for the benefit of local communities, our partners and the landscape itself. The best thing is being part of a team that is committed to bringing people together to inspire them to play a role caring for our landscape. It’s important that we care for our shared heritage, to connect with it, respect it, nurture it and treasure it.

Tell me something surprising about yourself.

According to my daughter I can do a very good impersonation of a chimpanzee.
