Linda began life as a ranger in Cheshire, Lancashire and Merseyside before moving to Dorset as Head Ranger in 1988. In October 2000, she was brought in to initiate the new Cranborne Chase AONB Partnership and develop the very first AONB Management 2004-9. Linda has honed the skills of countryside/landscape management skills, over the years. Although gaining an MSc in Countryside Management some time ago, she still insists that getting muddy wellies is the only real way to learn.
Since 2016, she has been the Chairman of the Countryside Management Association (CMA) for countryside and greenspace professionals in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and at the 9th World Ranger Congress in Nepal in 2019, was honoured to be elected as the Vice President of the International Ranger Federation (IRF). Linda also founded ‘Gearing Up 4 Gorillas’ (G4G) in 2004, a registered charity that continues to provide support to rangers who protect mountain gorillas in DR Congo.
In her spare time, she remains besotted with her collies and sheep.
