Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership Granted Extension Until June 2025

23rd September 2024

Cranborne Chase National Landscape is delighted to announce that the National Lottery Heritage Fund has extended its support of the Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership Scheme until the end of June 2025.

View of a walkThe Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership has been working to conserve and enhance the special landscape of Cranborne Chase and the Chalke Valley since 2019. With Cranborne Chase National Landscape as the lead partner, and with major financial support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this 5-year partnership has worked with local communities to better connect people with the landscape.

With an original aim to deliver twenty projects across the Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership area, the extension to the scheme will enable a select number of projects to continue past the planned end date of September 2024. These activities will provide benefits to individuals, communities, heritage and the landscape.

The projects which will continue until June 2025 include:

  • Nurturing Nature – building on this project’s success to enable more identification & surveying opportunities for volunteers.
  • Champions of the Past – continuing the LiDAR portal and the services of Rebecca Bennett of Pushing the Sensors. There will be plenty of opportunities for volunteers to get involved. Group of volunteers
  • Walking Festival 2025 – this popular event will return next year, plus ongoing opportunities for route checking, route marshals & walk leaders.
  • StarFest 2025 – building on the success of the Starry Starry Nights project, this popular community event will continue in 2025.
  • Ongoing weekly practical conservation tasks, once we have our new Ranger on board for which we are currently recruiting!

Plus… there will be some additional work to ensure a lasting legacy to the Memories Captured project and the Time Traveller App. Plus there will be continued promotion of the walks in the landscape created through the Chase & Chalke project.

We look forward to continuing to work with our fantastic volunteers, and there will be new opportunities to get involved. So if you haven’t already, you can sign up on our website.

We are grateful to the National Lottery Heritage Fund and our project partners who have made this extension to the transformational Chase & Chalke project possible.
