A series of three residencies, with each artist undertaking an exciting six-month residency with the Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership.
Project aims
- To engage artists through artist residencies in order to increase people’s connection to the Cranborne Chase and Chalke Valley area.
- To involve and inspire groups and individuals who do not normally connect with the heritage on their doorstep.
- To support artists in the creation of community workshops and projects.
Project achievements
- In 2024, there was an exhibition to show the fruits of the three residencies and their legacy for ongoing creativity and inspiration.
- The three artists each worked with ten groups from local and neighbouring communities, both adults, young people and school children.
- The artists each created their own work alongside the workshops. A few pieces are available as printed copies: Sara Dudman’s Unearthing Chase and Chalke instruction card, Jo Beal’s Cranborne Chase Timeline (Palaeolithic to Saxon era) and Cherry Truluck’s Edible Ebble recipe collection.
