See local history come alive through the in-character portrayal of notable residents of Cranborne Chase, from early settlers to more recent historic figures, a series of storywalks and performances will bring the area’s past vividly to life.
This unique look at history through those who once lived here will raise awareness of the area’s rich heritage and ecology, encouraging audiences to better understand the diversity and importance of this special place.
Characters of the Chase Project Aims
This project aims to bring to life key characters associated with the Chase & Chalke area. Professional performers will devise short stories that can be performed on walks and events within the programme.
In 2020 the father of modern archaeology, General Augustus Pitt Rivers, entertained and educated audiences in his Larmer Tree Gardens, bought to life by talented storyteller Tony Horitz, a film of Pitt Rivers at the Larmer Tree Gardens can be viewed here.
