The Fonthill Estate comprises 8,500 acres with over 100 residential properties and 40 commercial properties let to a diverse range of businesses.
As well as farming and forestry, the estate runs a small but very successful private Stud farm and hosts 35 days shooting a year employing three gamekeepers.
A fishing syndicate exists for carp fishing on the large lake and there are lovely walks on the Rights of Way network through the estate.
There are also two attractive lodges called Splendens available to rent as holiday lets through the award-wining Beckford Arms pub nearby. Other party venues to hire include Bake Barn which is a large magnificent shooting lodge, and Quarry Wood, a perfect site for weddings.
The Tithe Barn in Tisbury currently undergoing refurbishment, will be ready for spectacular parties in 2014. The estate is also keen to promote green technology and in 2011 invested in various alternative energy schemes including hydro-electric power from the lake, two solar power sites, and a biomass woodchip boiler.
