Details
The Fovant Badges are a historic and unique cluster of military badges cut into the chalk hills of Wiltshire near the village of Fovant. The replicas of cap badges badges were created after the First World War by soldiers in remembrance of their regimental colleagues.
Discover more about the badges with the Fovant Badges Society, a voluntary organisation which has the objective of maintaining these regimental badges. The Society works to ensure that the badges shall remain an historic, fitting and truly visible memorial to the soldiers who passed through Fovant and its neighbouring villages on their way to the Great War, many never to return.
This viewpoint of the badges is in a lay-by on the A30, the best place to stop to view the badges is on the southern side of the road.
