We are searching for a Programme Support Officer to provide a wide range of administrative support for, and work closely with, the Farming in Protected Landscapes Officer for Cranborne Chase National Landscape.
This Defra-funded programme encourages farmers and landowners to submit applications for grant funding that will achieve outcomes for either Nature, Climate, People and Place or preferably a combination of those criteria. The programme is running from now until the end of March 2029.
Your skills will include organising and providing an efficient secretariat for the Local Assessment Panel (LAP) comprising local farmers and officers from a variety of different organisations that discusses and decides if a grant is to be awarded. Meetings require taking accurate and detailed minutes and once a grant is awarded, you would work with the FiPL Officer to prepare pro forma legal grant agreements. The work also involves database management, checking application form details, completing regular Excel monitoring forms for Defra, processing invoices and checking through financial spreadsheets.
You would need to provide superior customer service to those enquiring about the FiPL programme; knowledge of, or good familiarity with, farming and agri-environment schemes in general would be very advantageous.
