Join us at the Ancient Technology Centre, Cranborne, this Sunday for the exciting culmination of the Festival of Words. Booking via Eventbrite Essential

The day is in two parts, a FREE daytime event with a plethora of activities with poets and storytellers including workshops, a community poem, a treasure hunt, poetry on demand, and a showcase of our Creative Writing competition winners. There is even a performance from the Bard of Exeter!

The spectacular evening event begins at 7pm. Get ready for a showcase of commissioned work from Estelle Phillips, Sukie Baker and Shaun Gary Palmer before our Headline Guest, the amazing storyteller Rachel Rose Reid will take to the stage.

Free teas and coffees will be available at the evening event. Please bring your own picnic or snacks to enjoy in the unique surroundings of the Ancient Technology Centre.

The festival has been organised as part of the Words in the Landscape project, a Chase & Chalke Landscape Partnership project which aims to connect people to the landscape through the spoken and written word.

Daytime Event Programme

12:00 pm: Site Opens

12.30 pm: Welcome & Showcase of the Poetry Competition winners

From 1.15 pm – 4.30pm:

At the Bandstand – Introduction of the Artists, Site Walk, The Poet Tree, Spaces to Write, Lucky Dip Poetry on Demand, Community Poem facilitated by Jonny Fluffypunk, Poetry Treasure Hunt

2:00 pm: In the Earthouse – Ed Tripp, The Underground Tales of the Bard of Exeter

3.15 – 4.15pm: Three workshops facilitated by Ri Baroche:

In the small roundhouse – ‘Foraging for Words’

In the Earthouse – Jonny Fluffypunk

In the Viking longhouse – Myriam San Marco ‘From page to stage’

4.30pm: In the Earthouse – Gather & Share your stories and listen to the Community Poem

5pm: Finish Day Programme
